Are you having a hard time opening up to people close to you about an issue you’re struggling with? You may be going through a difficult time and feel it could be helpful to talk confidentially to someone outside of your friends and family.

Perhaps you’re feeling anxious or depressed, plagued by overthinking or intrusive thoughts. Maybe you have concerns relating to your identity, your self-esteem. Or you feel on the edges, struggling with loneliness, stress, trauma. Maybe you are going through a big change leaving you feeling disoriented and confused and you’re trying to figure things out. Maybe you’re exploring the big stuff – purpose, spirituality, relationships – counselling conversations can help.

There is huge value in looking at what’s going on for you with someone empathetic who is unbiased and who doesn’t have an agenda. Someone who will give space to feelings that may seem overwhelming or perhaps are habitually brushed aside, but you know they matter.

Counselling conversations put you at the centre and can help you find your way through what might feel bleak, messy and painful. A chance to untangle the tight net of emotions.

While in counselling there may be dark and difficult issues to explore and come to terms with, my aim is to create an environment which feels safe, and to build a therapeutic relationship with you that is encouraging, collaborative, curious, spacious and open.

I won’t have all the answers, but I do create a space and opportunity for you to explore whatever is going on or holding you back from the life you want. I can work with you to help you discover more personal freedom – freedom to express yourself, to relate to others more authentically, to make choices that support your wellbeing.

I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor. My approach considers each person uniquely depending on individual needs, taking into account how the past continues to affect the present, how our beliefs and thoughts affect our behaviour, how our brain and body chemistry are affected, what our dreams may be trying to tell us. Beyond my training in psychodynamic, person-centred and CBT approaches, I am also a practitioner of Narrative Therapy. In addition, I hold a Certificate in Online Counselling qualifying me to deliver professional counselling by zoom or by phone as well as to face to face.

I am a fully insured Registered Member of BACP (MBACP) (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and I abide by their ethical codes of conduct.

Face to face appointments (currently Fridays only) are held in Portree.

Zoom appointments available Monday to Friday (not Tuesday mornings).

My fee is £45 for one hour.
